New family homes with a historic backdrop in commuter-friendly Leixlip

Three and four-bedroom homes will be launching soon.

ONE OF THE most wonderful things about buying a property in Ireland, whether new or old, is that will more than likely be situated near something linked to heritage or history.

In the case of Barnhall Meadows, your backdrop will be the Wonderful Barn, a quirky tower with a staircase on the external wall that was built hundreds of years ago.

Constructed in 1743 on the Leixlip side of Castletown Estate, the original use is still debated. Historians surmise that it might have provided the estate a sport-shooting vantage point or possibly was used as a dove-raising barn. What is clear is that the building is unique and will only add to the allure of Barnhall Meadows, a new development offered by Glenveagh Homes.

Barnhall Meadows will be made up of family-friendly three- and four-bedroom detached and semi-detached homes. The first phase will launch this autumn, with a selection of three and four bedroom homes, and sizes will range from 1,313 to 2,236 sq ft. Pricing will be released closer to the launch date.

Each will offer new owners contemporary kitchens and bathrooms, spacious living space, and A3 energy ratings as standard, thanks to high levels of insulation and state-of-the-art heat pump systems.

The development is perfectly situated to offer a pleasant commute; the N4/M4 and M50 motorways are all within close proximity. Dublin City Centre is under 30 minutes away by car, and Dublin Bus also provides a regular service. Irish Rail also provides a daily service, with Louisa Bridge and Confey train stations close by.

For families with school-age children, there are quite a few creches, as well as Scoil Mhuire and Leixlip Educate Together primary schools. For older kids, Confey College, Leixlip Community School, and Colaiste Chiarain offer secondary educational opportunities. Additionally, Maynooth University is only 15 minutes away.

Leixlip town has plenty to offer residents of all ages with local athletics, including GAA, soccer, rugby and basketball clubs. Leixlip Reservoir and the River Liffey allow for canoeing, fishing, and other water sports.

Whether you’re walking around the Wonderful Barn, or taking a jaunt down to Leixlip Castle, you’ll have a wide array of historical spots to visit, adding some culture to your weekends.
