GARDAÍ HAVE OPENED an investigation after a body was found in a car that had been on fire.
A garda spokesperson told TheJournal.ie this evening that gardaí were called to a car on fire at around 7.15pm on Gyles Quay in Dundalk this evening.
When the fire was extinguished, it was discovered that there was a body in the car.
The area has been sealed off and an investigation is now under way. A post-mortem on the body will take place in due course.
