Post-mortem due on body recovered from canal

The body was recovered this afternoon by gardaí in Mullingar.

A POST-MORTEM is due to take place on a body that was recovered from a canal in Mullingar.

Gardaí recovered the body from the Royal Canal off Harbour Road in Mullingar, Co Westmeath at 2pm today.

The body has not yet been identified.

The coroner has been notified and a post-mortem is due to take place.
