Gardaí investigating after body of man in his 30s discovered in Dundalk

The man’s body was found shortly after 8am this morning.

THE BODY OF a man in his 30s has been found in Co Louth. 

The man’s body was discovered shortly after 8am this morning outside a residential property at Dúiche Roden, a housing development in Dundalk.

Gardaí are investigating the circumstances surrounding the man’s death. The Garda Technical Bureau is examining the scene, which remains sealed off at this time.

The office of the State Pathologist and the local Coroner have been notified and a post-mortem examination will be arranged.

A Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) has been appointed to lead the investigation and an incident room has been established at Dundalk Garda Station. A Garda Family Liaison Officer is supporting the family of the deceased.

A garda spokesperson said the results of the post-mortem will assist investigating gardaí in determining the course of the investigation.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

They are seeking any available camera footage, including dash-cam recordings, from anyone who was in the Dúiche Roden or Demesne Road areas of Dundalk overnight.

Investigations are ongoing.
