Three arrested in searches as part of operation to tackle burglaries

Two men will appear in court tomorrow while a woman appear in court today.

TWO MEN ARE due in court tomorrow morning after electrical equipment, mobile phones and a quantity of cannabis was seized in Dublin today.

The men were arrested after a number of premises in St Louise’s Park in Blackrock were searched.

An angle grinder hand drill, power cords and a smoke alarm were among the objects discovered.

The pair – aged 36 and 43- will appear before Dun Laoghaire District Court at 10:30 tomorrow morning.

A 52-year-old woman also appeared in court earlier today on foot of a warrant.

The arrests are the latest made as part of Operation Acer - which was set up to prevent and tackle burglaries.

Assistant Commissioner DMR John Twomey advised people to take extra care to keep their homes safe:

It is also important that people take measures to protect their homes from burglaries, particularly during these dark winter days.

“Simple steps can help such as turning your alarm on even when your home, lighting up your house when not occupied, and ensuring all windows and doors are properly secured.”
