Young man killed in motorbike crash in Carlow

Gardaí are now appealing for witnesses following the fatal crash.

A MAN WAS killed in a crash in Carlow when his motorbike hit a digger.

It happened at Ballymoon, near Muine Bheag at 8:50 last night.

The 27-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been removed to Waterford Regional Hospital for a post mortem.

The driver of the digger, a man in his 30′s, was uninjured.

The road is closed to traffic and diversions are in place.

Garda forensic collision investigators will carry out a technical examination at the scene this morning.

Gardaí are now appealing for witnesses following the fatal crash.

    So sad to read these story’s and as biker myself I feel the pain of losing one of us . For gods sake guys and gals mind yourselves on the roads , slow down a bit and think ahead of what could be coming the other way especially before entering corners and also when your out in the country with tractors and agri equipment busy till end of September . My deepest sympathy to his family and friends hope he RIP

    People don’t give a crap anymore. Last week a white van pull out of parked position without looking as I joined a major road junction. He hit straight into me. I was blessed the other side of the road was clear so I could move over avoiding a worse collision. His answer to me when I approached him ( angrily) was ” calm down girl I have tax and insurance. Um ok that’s alright then is it ? Drive however you want so. Idiot.
