WE’VE ALL BEEN there. We tear open the wrapping paper to reveal what can only be described as a horrendous Christmas present.
You smile, thank the person politely, muttering the words: “It’s just what I wanted.” When really, you are thinking: “Why would anyone buy this for someone?”
Returns
So, what do you do? Is it okay to ask where they got it, in the hope that you can head back to the store and exchange it. Or should you flat out just say you don’t like it and ask for the receipt? It really is a minefield of emotions.
Or do you just accept that someone went to a lot of trouble to pick something out for you and you should appreciate that, and just pop it in a drawer, never to be looked at again?
We want to know your thoughts on this.
