Armed garda raid recovers cash after armed robbers hold up shop in Dublin

Three men were arrested at the scene.

THREE MEN HAVE been arrested after armed gardaí raided a house in Clondalkin after an armed robbery in the area.

At about 2.50am today, two masked men entered a shop in the Bawnogue Shopping Centre in Clondalkin carrying what is believed to be a firearm.

After threatening staff and taking an amount of cash they fled the store. They were seen leaving the scene and heading towards the nearby Lealand Estate.

Later this afternoon, local gardaí as well as members from the burglary response unit and the armed special detective unit conducted a raid on a house in the estate.

Inside they arrested three men in the 20s and recovered a quantity of cash. A follow-up search also led to the recovery of a firearm.

All three men are currently being held at Clondalkin Garda Station where they can be held for up to three days.
