DEMOLITION WORKS HAVE begun on a Dublin 4 hotel that’s being turned into 190 apartments.

The Clyde Court Hotel on Lansdowne Road is being torn down to make room for an “exclusive residential scheme” that is due to come on the market next year.

The hotel building, formerly known as the Berkeley Court, is located beside the Ballsbridge Hotel which will continue to operate until the middle of 2018.

Both sites are owned by Chartered Land with the construction of the apartments partly backed by the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA).

The Dalata Hotel Group operated leases at both hotels and says that the 100 staff employed at the the Clyde Court were offered positions at other hotels.
