Two due in court after €2.1 million worth of cocaine and cannabis seized in Dublin and Wicklow

The five people arrested have been detained at Garda stations in the eastern region.

GARDAÍ HAVE ARRESTED five people after drugs worth an estimated €2.1 million were seized in Dublin and Wicklow.

Residential addresses in the Dublin and Wicklow were searched on Thursday and 98 kilos of cannabis and two kilos of cocaine with a combined estimated street value of €2.1 million were seized.

Five people were arrested in connection with the seizure – a man and woman in their 40s, as well as two women and a man aged in their 30s.

The man and woman (both aged in their 40s), arrested in connection with the investigation have since been charged, and are due to appear in court this morning.

The searches were conducted as part of Operation Tara and ongoing investigations targeting organised crime, involving the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau assisted by the Ballymun and Balbriggan Drug Units.
