Got a great idea to clean up your community? Tell us for a chance to win €150

It’s all thanks to Gum Litter Taskforce.

FEEL A LITTLE overwhelmed by what you can do to stop climate change, or just want to make your neighbourhood a nicer place? There are actually so many brilliant, local initiatives that you can get involved with in order to make a difference.

From joining the now-iconic Tidy Towns to taking part in one of the monthly Clean Coasts beach clean ups to smaller things like always binning your gum (and avoiding a €150 fine) – little changes can make a big difference.

To celebrate all the great work going on around the country, we’d like to hear about all of the brilliant initiatives happening in your area.

Whether it’s something like these hard-working teens cleaning Bray Seafront (above) to this Cork teenager’s plan to remove microplastics from water, we want to hear what’s going on in your area to clamp down on litter, and get it to where it really belongs – in the bin.

So, tell us – what does your local area do to keep things clean? You could win €150 to help.

Simply email your name, location and a good thing that your community does to clean up to competitions@thejournal.ie with ‘Gum Litter Taskforce’ in the subject line.

Prize is a €150 One4All voucher. Winners will be contacted via email. Full Journal Media T&Cs here

No matter how busy you are keeping your community clean, you should always make time to bin your gum when you’re done. Did you know that by incorrectly disposing of gum, you’re not only littering, but breaking the law? So do the decent thing – bin your gum, and avoid a €150 fine.
