GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING an alleged serious assault in Coolock last week after a man was found unresponsive on Wednesday evening.
The man in his 50s remains in a critical condition after being brought to Beaumont Hospital for treatment.
Gardaí said the incident is believed to have occurred in Belcamp Park, near the Clonshaugh Park entrance closest to Clonshaugh Lawn.
Emergency services and gardaí first responded to a report of the man found unresponsive at Clonshaugh Park in Coolock shortly after 6pm on Wednesday. After the man was brought to hospital, the scene was preserved for technical examination.
Gardaí are now appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward, particularly anyone who was in the vicinity between 5.30pm and 6.30pm on 20 May who may have camera footage.
They are also seeking to talk to anyone who may have been exercising in Belcamp Park at the time.
