Couple (40s) who died in Tramore crash to be laid to rest

A death notice on Rip.ie reads that the couple were “adored and loved” by their sons Theo and Finn.

FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS HAVE been finalised for a couple in their forties who died at the scene of a two vehicle collision on the R675 at Robin Hill, Tramore, Co Waterford on Saturday.

Brian Frisby and Grace Elliott, who have two sons, were living at Ashgrove Avenue in Naas in Co Kildare. Mr Frisby was formerly of Newport Square in Waterford whilst his wife grew up in Lisduggan.

Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to the incident, involving a van and a car, at noon on Saturday. The remains of the couple were removed to University Hospital Waterford where post-mortem examinations took place.

The two occupants of the van, a man in his fifties and a juvenile male, were treated in hospital for non life threatening injuries.

A death notice on Rip.ie reads that the couple were “adored and loved” by their sons Theo and Finn. They are also survived by their “heartbroken parents” Seanie and Mary Elliott and Bernard and Mary Frisby.

Mr Frisby is mourned by his brothers Richard and Michael and his sister Susan whilst Ms Elliott will be much missed by her brother Stephen and her sisters Denise and Laura. They are both also survived by nieces and nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Mr Frisby was late of Scoil Na Naomh Uilig, Newbridge, Co. Kildare.

The couple will lie in repose at George Mullins Funeral Home, Kilcullen Road in Naas on Thursday from 5pm to 7pm with vigil prayers and rosary at 645pm.

A requiem mass will take place at the Church of Our Lady and St David in Naas on Friday at 10am followed by burial in St Corban’s cemetery in the town.

Meanwhile, Nass GAA has posted of their deep sadness at the loss of “ two much loved members of our club and community, Brian & Grace Frisby.”

“Our thoughts and heartfelt sympathies are with their two sons, Fionn & Theo, their extended families, friends, and all who are grieving at this devastating time.

This is an unimaginable loss for those closest to them, and the entire Naas GAA community stands with them in their sorrow.

Brian was an active coach within our club, giving generously of his time, energy, and passion to support and develop our young players.

His passing under such tragic circumstances will be felt far and wide across both the club and the wider community. His contribution and support will be remembered with deep appreciation.”

Tributes were also paid to the couple by Kildare GAA and members of the Kildare camogie county board.
