Teen seriously injured in two-car collision

Gardaí in Castleblaney are investigating the crash, which occurred on the N53 at Maghernakill yesterday.

A TEENAGER WAS seriously injured in a two-car collision yesterday evening.

Gardaí in Castleblaney are investigating the two-vehicle road traffic collision, which occurred on the N53, at Maghernakill yesterday evening at 6.30pm.

They said a male in his late teens, who was the sole occupant of the car, was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. He is described as being in a critical condition. The second driver was taken to Daisy Hill Hospital, Newry with minor injuries.

This stretch of the N53 at Maghernakill is currently closed pending completion of an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, and local diversions are in place.
