Man arrested as €10.5m worth of cocaine found in truck at Rosslare Europort

The drugs were found elaborately concealed in the lining of the truck’s fuel tank.

A MAN IN his 50s has been arrested following the discovery of 150kgs of cocaine with an estimated street value of €10.5 million in a truck at Rosslare Europort today. 

In an intelligence-led operation targeting serious organised crime activity, a truck with a trailer attached that had travelled to Ireland from the continent was controlled and searched at the port. 

Gardaí from the National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and staff from Revenue’s Customs Service discovered an “elaborate lead-lined concealment within the fuel tank of the vehicle”, a garda spokesperson said.

The man who was arrested and is currently being detained under organised crime legislation in the South East of the country.

Investigations are ongoing.
