€1.6 million worth of heroin, cocaine and cannabis seized after car is stopped

They are being held in two Garda stations.

TWO MEN AND a woman have been arrested after over €1.6 million worth of drugs was seized on Saturday in Dublin.

Gardaí targeting drug traffickers operating in the Ballyfermot area of Dublin, of the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau assisted by local gardaí, intercepted a vehicle on Conyngham Road, Islandbridge and seized a “significant quantity” of heroin and cocaine.

A 45-year-old man was arrested at the scene.

During a follow-up search at a house in Ballyfermot, further quantities of heroin, cocaine and cannabis herb were seized.

A 24-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were arrested.

The street value of the drugs seized is estimated to be in excess of €1.6 million.

The three arrested are currently detained, under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at Lucan and Finglas Garda stations.

The investigation is ongoing.
