GARDAÍ IN DUBLIN have arrested and charged a man in relation to a significant operation against organised crime in Dublin.
An intelligence-led operation into culminated in a search of a vehicle at Ballymount Industrial Estate yesterday afternoon.
Officers seized ecstasy tablets and a white powder which they suspect to be a controlled drug from the vehicle. During follow-up searches at an industrial unit in the Ballymount estate, up to eight different types of controlled drugs with an estimated street value of €800,000 were discovered.
Ammunition, forged documents (including blank NCT certificates, insurance certificates, P60s and travel passes) and photographic equipment was also seized.
The suspect is due in court this afternoon.
The search was conducted by members of the Crumlin Detective Unit and Ballyfermot Drugs Unit, along with the National Drugs Unit and the Revenue Customs Service.
