23-year-old Ellie Flanagan PSNI

Co Fermanagh murder victim named as 23-year-old Ellie Flanagan

Ellie Flanagan, 23, was found dead at an address in Enniskillen.

A YOUNG WOMAN who was found dead at a house in Co Fermanagh on Saturday has been named by the PSNI.

Ellie Flanagan, 23, was found dead at an address in the Corban Avenue area of Enniskillen.

She was discovered by PSNI officers who were carrying out enquiries in relation to a collision which took place on the Carn Road near Tempo at around 9.15pm on Saturday.

A PSNI spokesperson said police received a report that a man was involved in a collision on the Carn Road but when officers arrived at the scene, they located the car but the driver had fled.

A man, aged 45, was arrested near the scene on suspicion of murder and other related offences.

He remains in police custody, and as of this afternoon, detectives have been granted an additional 36 hours to question him.

PSNI Detective Chief Inspector Gary Robinson said his team “continues to work at pace to establish the circumstances surrounding Ellie’s death and to determine exactly what happened”.

He appealed to anyone who may have information to make contact.

“Any detail, no matter how small, could prove crucial to our investigation,” he added.

He also urged anyone who was travelling on the Cornagrade Road into Corban Avenue between 6.30pm and 10.45pm on Saturday evening and “noticed anything out of the ordinary, or suspicious, to make contact with us”.

Robinson noted that the local community will “continue to see a police presence in the Corban Avenue area over the coming days, as our investigation develops”.

Photos and footage, including CCTV, mobile phone or dash cam footage, can be shared with police through the Major Incident Public Portal at https://mipp.police.uk
