What’s this then?
This is a 1996 Ferrari F355. It’s the car that replaced the 348 and it came in three versions: a Berlinetta coupe, a Spider convertible and a GTS with a removable hardtop section. This F355 GTS model can be yours for €119,900.
What’s so special about it?
The F355 was introduced in 1994 for the 1995 model year and was one of the most head-turning Ferraris built in decades. To me, it is still one of the most aesthetically pleasing modern cars.
Any standout design features?
It really is a work of art with its emotional Pininfarina wedge shape and classic 90s details like those pop-up headlights and elegant open air inlets. This GTS model provides the best bits of the coupe and convertible by offering open-top motoring through the quick removal of that roof section and the added security of a hardtop. Perfect for the changeable Irish weather.
This particular model is finished in the classic colour combo of Rosso Corsa red exterior and cream interior.
And what powers this F355 GTS?
The car gets its F355 designation from its 3.5-litre naturally-aspirated engine which has five valves per cylinder. This is mated to the manual transmission, so you get that wonderful open-gate gear selector.
Power output is 381hp and this mid-engined Ferrari can go from a standstill to 100km/h in 4.7 seconds.
Does the Ferrari F355 GTS have any luxurious touches?
The sports seats are covered in soft Connolly leather and the cabin has luxuries such as air con, electric windows and multiple airbags. Safety features include ABS, an immobiliser and anti-theft system.

But who would drive this car?
Motorists with a keen appreciation for modern sports cars will love this Ferrari. As too will collectors, this model has all the makings of being a genuine future classic, with values likely to rise even more over the coming years.
