Around €2,000 worth of fireworks found in a house in Shannon.

THERE WILL BE fewer bangers going off in the Co Clare town of Shannon tonight after gardai seized a large quantity of fireworks there.

Gardai from the Shannon Detective Unit found €2,000 worth of fireworks in a house in the Rossbracken estate in the town during a planned search yesterday evening.

The fireworks seizure was part of Operation Tombola, aimed at clamping down on the illegal sale of fireworks ahead of Halloween tonight.
