SPACE, LIGHT AND a well-thought-out orientation are all of things you’ll get with Askill, a five-bed home at Stillorgan Grove in Blackrock.

On sale for €1,550,000 with a generous floor area of 286 m², the inside and outside work together in harmony with a number of the downstairs rooms leading to the outside and ensuring great views of the garden.

The kitchen steps out to the garden via French doors, so the whole space is filled with natural light. It’s a tiled room that really lets the brightness bounce around. With a lot of storage, top-end integrated appliances by the likes of Electrolux and Neff, and a large breakfast bar, no doubt it’s a social space that’s also a joy to cook in.

From here, there is also a door to the utility room that also steps out to the side of the house.

There are so many choices when it comes to entertaining at this house. Aside from the open plan kitchen, there is also a separate dining room that looks over the front of the house. The floor is covered in oak floor and there is also a marble fireplace and marble hearth with a slate inset with gas fire.

The dining room links to the large family room that’s also bright thanks to two big windows. This room also leads to a covered side passage that runs along the house.

Also on the ground floor is a nicely-sized bathroom with fully tiled floors and walls, and an oversized vanity. A tv room, that would make a useful home office and has plenty of storage, sits across the hall.

One really luxurious element to Askill is that every bedroom has its own bathroom. The largest of the five, which all sit on the first floor, is at the front of the house and also has its own walk-in wardrobe.

Down the hall, the remaining four bedrooms and en suites are all large and all have built-in wardrobes.

If Askill’s generous floor area in the main house won’t suffice, no doubt the outhouse with its tiled floor, Velux roof light and two windows that look onto the garden will make for a great home office or gym.

There is also a block built boiler house on the site that links to the garage that’s sure to be handy for storage of sports equipment.

In terms of location, Askill has all the advantages of living near the city centre while being completely tranquil. Stillorgan village, Blackrock and Foxrock are all close by, so families will have their pick when it comes to schools, sporting facilities, public transport and green spaces.

This is luxury living on the south side for a family who needs to space, light and doesn’t fancy queuing for the bathroom.

Askill 86 Stillorgan Grove Blackrock, Blackrock, Co Dublin is on the market for €1,550,000 through Lisney Sotheby’s International Realty.
