Four teenagers arrested after stolen pickup truck they were driving crashed into motorcyclist

The motorcyclist, a man aged in his 30s, was taken to Cork University Hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

FOUR TEENAGERS HAVE been arrested after the vehicle they were driving collided with a motorcyclist.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the crash, which happened at Graiguecullen, Co Carlow on Wednesday morning.

The theft of a black Ford Ranger pickup truck had been reported in the Rathcoole area of Co Dublin in the early hours.

At around 7:35am, gardaí on mobile patrol spotted the stolen vehicle travelling on Chaff Street, Graiguecullen, in Co Carlow.

The vehicle left the scene and collided with another car and a motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, a man aged in his 30s, was taken to Cork University Hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

No other injuries were reported.

Gardaí said four male juvenile teens were arrested at the scene and are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at garda stations in Co Carlow.

The road was closed for examination and has since reopened.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.
