Do you think restaurants should display their food safety ratings?

The food safety watchdog has announced a public consultation for businesses and consumers about a national food safety rating scheme.

THE FOOD SAFETY Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has proposed a measure for restaurants to publicly display their food safety levels.

The move would see FSAI food safety inspection results displayed on the front windows of restaurants, takeaways and shops.

Food rating schemes currently operate in a number of countries, such as Northern Ireland, England and France.

Jamie Knox, chair of the FSAI’s food safety consultative council said that other countries use this scheme “to empower consumers and drive higher standards across the food sector”.

So, tell us: Do you think restaurants should display their food safety ratings?
