FUEL DISTRIBUTION INFRASTRUCTURE across the country is now operating at close to normal capacity, according to the Government’s emergy group.
The National Emergency Coordination Group (NECG) met today to review the situation resulting from the nationwide fuel price protests and blockades, which have reduced access to fuel dramatically over the last seven days.
The NECG, a collection of department and state agencies, said it has heard fuel distribution has “improved materially over the past 24 – 48 hours”.
“Affected ports are operating at or near normal levels,” the NECG said in a statement this afternoon.
“No significant disruption was reported across the public transport or road networks and the NECG was updated that health and emergency services are operating as normal.”
The group also said that all HSE services “are continuing and operational”.
“Unless patients hear from the HSE, they can assume their appointment is going ahead,” the NECG said.
