Gardaí track down teenager on the loose with two shotguns in large-scale manhunt across Dublin

GARDAÍ HAVE ARRESTED a male in his mid-to-late teens carrying two shotguns in a large-scale manhunt across the capital.
Several shots were fired by the suspect early this morning at a home in the Kilmainham area of Dublin.
The man had absconded from the address armed with two shotguns upon the arrival of gardaí.
It sparked a large-scale manhunt around the Grand Canal area of southwest Dublin, between Kilmainham, Clondalkin, Bluebell and Labre Park.
A large number of gardaí, a dog unit, several armed units and the Garda air support unit spent the day combing the area looking for the suspect.
This afternoon they found the suspect, a male in his mid to late teens, in Inchicore.
He has been brought to Kevin Street Garda Station in Dublin, and is being held under Section 30 of the 1939 Offences Against The State Act.
“Gardaí were called to a house in Kilmainham this morning,” a Garda press spokesman told TheJournal.ie.
A youth armed with at least one firearm had left the scene. There were unconfirmed reports of shots fired at the address.
“During a search operation involving local Garda Units, Emergency Response Unit, Garda Dog Unit and Air Support Unit, two firearms were recovered.
We recovered two shotguns, subject to ballistic examination.
The operation has concluded without any injuries.
