GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING the circumstances behind a fire which broke out close to the Pirory Hall apartment complex – which was recently evacuated over saftey concerns – in Donaghmede, Co Dublin.
Gardaí say that two houses at Beau Park Square were damaged during the incident. The units were unoccupied at the time.
Several fire units were summoned to the scene at 3.15 this morning.
Occupants of the nearby Priory Hall complex were forced to leave their homes earlier this month, amid fears over fire safety at the development in Donaghmede, which was constructed by the Coalport Building Company.
Dublin City Council lawyers told the High Court that the breach of fire safety regulations at the apartment block was so serious that a fire could rage through the entire complex within minutes.
Investigations into the incident at Beau Park Square are ongoing.
