GARDAÍ HAVE SEIZED cannabis plants with an estimated street value of over half a million euro from a house in Co Cavan.
Officers searched the vacant property on Church Street in Cootehill, close to the border with Monaghan, at around 2pm yesterday afternoon.
They discovered over 1300 cannabis plants being cultivated, and estimate their street value – pending analysis – to be over €520,000.
The area remains sealed off pending a forensic examination and the investigation is ongoing.
There have been no arrests to date.
