AS ANY TRUE Garth Brooks fan will know, he’s not the biggest fan of the internet. Videos of his hits are pretty much impossible to find on Youtube, for example.
But it looks like Garth might be getting less sceptical as the years go on. The country crooner (and all round breaker of Irish hearts) last month set up his own official Facebook page.
Now we here at TheJournal.ie can be pretty slow when it comes to Garth Brooks news, so this glorious launch only came to our attention today. Even so, we felt compelled to share it with you, especially this, a late night monologue straight from his hotel bed.
In his opening video post entitled #FriendsInNewPlaces, Brooks said he, “wasn’t sure about this at the start”, but after encouraging words from a friend he decided to embrace Facebook.
“It’s wiping the walls down between you and me and I really like that,” he says with a smile. “It allows us into each others worlds, which I guess in my case is a hotel room.”
He promises to post “cool stuff, slick stuff, neat stuff” on the Facebook page. That will no doubt placate his legions of Irish fans who missed out on seeing him last July, won’t it?
Maybe not, what do you reckon Garth?
