Coast Guard deploys helicopter in Liffey search

The search follows reports that a man was seen entering the water.

THE IRISH COAST Guard deployed a helicopter as it searches the Liffey in Dublin city centre.

The search follows reports that a male was seen entering the water.

Gardaí said that shortly after 12.30pm today, they received reports that a male had entered the river Liffey at Custom House Quay.

“Searches to locate the individual are ongoing,” it said.

It is understood that gardaí, Dublin Fire Brigade and the Coast Guard stood down their search around 2.30pm.

No sign of the missing man was found in the searches.
