Each week, we step inside a reader’s home, and indulge in some copycat behaviour, creating a shopping list inspired by their interior style.
This week, Bronagh Fleming’s (@foxhollowstyle) home office was our inspiration.
“My work is really diverse, so my space has to be diverse too,” says Bronagh. “My desk might be covered in samples and mood boards, or cleared so I can focus on written content. Often it’s my study space for my evening course.”
“What was important to me was a space that would be comfortable and that had plenty of storage. So I created a cosy den vibe in my office, with rich depth of colour on the walls, natural wood storage and hints of gold for an opulent look. It’s a space that feels like a big hug to me.”
Bronagh loves paying a visit to antique auctions and second-hand shops for hidden gems, but also picked up pieces for her home office in Penneys, Sostrene Grene and ASOS. Below are six high-street items that’ll help you get the look in your own home…
1. Grey office chair, €85, Jysk
Bronagh’s grey office chair is a far cry from the usual bulky offering.
2. Pegboard, €17, Ikea
Save desk space by displaying notes and tasks on a pegboard.
3. Monstera plant, €12.95, Gardens4You
A plant adds life to any space – especially if you’re working from home alone.
4. Cactus print, €3.71, Desenio
If you can’t paint your desk or walls, add some colour with a few bright prints.
5. Black and gold table lamp, €20.95, LampAndLight
A stylish table lamp is sure to make early morning starts in the winter slightly easier.
6. White memo board, €16, Ikea
Make your home office a place where you actually want to be by adding photos of friends and family, quotes or old concert tickets to a memo board.
