What can I get around Ireland for... exactly €400,000?

The choice is yours: a golf-course view in Limerick or a period home in Galway.

FINDING A HOME that matches your budget without compromising your list of must-haves can be tricky, but we’re here to make that task easier.

Each week we round up a selection of homes currently on the market in Ireland around the same price point, giving you a snapshot of what a particular amount could get you.

This week, we’re looking at properties around the country with an asking price of exactly €400,000 – from a converted convent to a Wexford bungalow.

Eyrecourt, Co Galway – €400,000

With a €400k budget in mind, this could be one of the best value properties out there. The Old Convent and Schoolhouse, in Eyrecourt, Co Galway, originally formed part of the Eyrecourt estate and was built in 1700. The property now counts six bedrooms and six bathrooms, split equally between the two detached buildings, which were both restored by a previous owner.

Set on almost an acre and a half, grounds also include a four-port air-conditioned garage, as well as a tennis court and children’s play area. The location is desirable as well, within walking distance to Eyrecourt town, and just an hour’s drive from Galway city.
