Price Comparison: What can I buy in Co Galway for under €500,000?

Four detached homes that all have four bedrooms.

WITH PROPERTY ACROSS the country in such high demand, it can be really hard to get an idea of what your money will get you. 

That’s why each week, we pick a number of homes in a specific county, to make things a little easier to comprehend. 

This week, we’re looking at properties around Galway with an asking price of €500,000 or less.

Four-bed, detached, Loughrea – €350,000

Ten minutes from Loughrea town and within easy reach of Galway City, this house dates to 2007. The rooms inside comprise a bright and spacious hallway that leads to the open plan kitchen complete with modern high gloss units and a natural wood breakfast bar. There is also a large living room with a full length limestone wall and natural wood floors. The sunroom is currently used as a games room and it steps out to the patio area and garden.

A spacious double bedroom, a main family bathroom featuring contemporary fixtures and fittings along with a generously proportioned utility room completes the downstairs accommodation. Upstairs there are three very spacious double bedrooms.

Built in about 2008 and sitting on .75 of an acre, this large home comprises a large open plan kitchen, dining space and living room along with a sunroom with a great view of the garden and landscape beyond. The ground floor also has a large family room as well as a utility, guest toilet and a store room. 

Upstairs, there are four bedrooms, two of which have their own bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms have built-in wardrobes while the master has a large walk-in wardrobe. The attic is also converted and accessed via a solid staircase. The house is 20 kilometres from Ballinasloe, and 15 from Portumna, and a local primary school is a ten minute walk away.
