PSNI confirm man (40s) dead after house fire in Ballymena

The discovery was made this morning.

A MAN IN his 40s has died following a house fire in Ballymena, Co Antrim.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland confirmed that a man had died following the blaze earlier this morning in the Waring Street area.

They are currently not treating the death as suspicious.

Police received a report of the fire shortly before 9.45am on Friday morning, and attended alongside colleagues from other emergency services.

However, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the fire are ongoing, however, at this stage the death is not being treated as suspicious,” a PSNI spokesperson said.
