The US Marines are in town…

US MARINES HAVE arrived in Dublin ahead of tomorrow’s Emerald Isle Classic between the Naval Academy and Notre Dame. The USS Fort McHenry docked at Dublin Port last night and is hosting public tours throughout the weekend. Tickets were distributed by the US Embassy in Dublin through a lottery system, which has already closed.

Commissioned in 1987, the USS Fort McHenry is 186 metres (610 feet) long and has a displacement of 16,261 tonnes. If you’re not among those who managed to get a ticket in time, then check out these photos of the vessel by Photocall Ireland photographer Laura Hutton.
