PSNI investigation underway after sudden death of woman in her 20s in Belfast nightclub

Another woman had also fallen unconscious and remains in hospital where she is undergoing treatment.

POLICE IN NORTHERN Ireland have launched an investigation after the sudden death of a woman in her 20s at a nightclub in Belfast in the early hours of this morning.

PSNI officers, fire crews and paramedics were called to the nightclub in Belfast city centre at around 2.20am following reports that two women had fallen unconscious.

Upon the arrival of the emergency services, one of the women, aged in her 20s, was found to have died.

The other woman was taken to hospital where she is undergoing treatment.

The PSNI is investigating the circumstances surrounding the sudden death of the woman though a spokesperson said police enquiries are at a very early stage.

Police are appealing to anyone who believes they may have information that could assist to make contact with them or to submit information online.
