Oscars 2026: All the winners as One Battle After Another bags six awards, including Best Picture

The American epic also won Best Director, Best Supporting Actor, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Editing and the first ever Oscar for Best Casting.

ONE BATTLE AFTER Another was the big winner at the 98th Academy Awards, picking up a total of six awards including the coveted Best Picture gong after what was a very competitive year.

The American epic also won Best Director for Paul Thomas Anderson, Best Supporting Actor for Sean Penn, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Editing and the first ever Oscar for Best Casting.

“I wrote this movie for my kids to say sorry for the housekeeping mess that we left in this world we’re handing off to them,” Anderson said during his first acceptance speech. “But also with the encouragement that they will be the generation that hopefully brings us some common sense and decency.”

While vampire thriller Sinner failed to sink its teeth into the big prize of the night, it did win four of the record 16 awards it was nominated for, including Best Original Screenplay, Best Cinematography and Best Original Score.

Its star Michael B Jordan also came out on top in the race for Best Actor, beating the former favourite Timothée Chalamet.

Meanwhile, Jessie Buckley was crowned Best Actress following a remarkable awards season that saw her take home every major prize for her performance in Hamnet. Best Supporting Actress went to Amy Madigan for Weapons.

Marty Supreme, which received nine nominations, failed to pick up any awards on the night.
