Jailed for child abuse and neglect

A MAN HAS BEEN jailed for seven years for physically assaulting and neglecting his five children. The last year of the sentence is suspended. The 42-year-old’s three sons and two daughers aged between eight and 14 are now in care. The presiding judge said she could not recall any case where children had been so damaged.
