Hundreds gathered to perform the dance to Kate Bush's Wuthering Heights. Liam Karma

Hundreds gather in a Dublin park dressed as Kate Bush to perform Wuthering Heights

The event has been running in Dublin since 2017, and is held in July to coincide with the month of Kate Bush’s birthday.

HUNDREDS DONNED THEIR best red attire and gathered in Dublin’s Fairview Park today to act out the famous dance sequence of Kate Bush’s Wuthering Heights.

Men, women and children flocked to the park to participate in The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever, an annual event held in Dublin.

The event, performed in cities across the globe ranging from Berlin to Melbourne, sees participants dress up as the musician and perform the dance routine from Bush’s 1978 hit Wuthering Heights.

Joey Kavanagh, who brought the event to Dublin, told The Journal why he was inspired to bring the event to Ireland.

“I’m a big Kate Bush fan myself and I went to see her when she performed in London in 2014,” Kavanagh said.

“And I think the video for this song and the song itself are quite iconic. I suppose that a lot of people would know the image of her dancing in the red dress.

“It’s just a fun way to people to come together and have a go.

“Everyone is welcome, whether they’re great dancers or poor dancers or somewhere in between.”
