Kerry gardaí arrest man in connection with murders of Jolanta and Enrika

The man in his 40s is being questioned at Killarney Garda station.

A MAN IN his 40s is being questioned about the murders of 27-year-old Jolanta Lubiene and her eight-year-old daughter Enrika in Kerry.

He was arrested by investigating gardaí this morning and is being detained at Killarney garda station under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act. He can be held for up to 72 hours.

The mother and daughter died after suffering stab wounds in an attack in their Killorglin home on the afternoon of the 15 June. Gardaí launched a manhunt and have been scouring the area near the Kerry home to find a weapon or anything that could lead them to the killer.

A mass for the victims was held on Wednesday with more than 1,000 mourners paying their respects to the Lithuanian family.
