PSNI OFFICERS HAVE arrested three men in connection to a report of an attempted kidnapping in Belfast today.
Detective Sergeant McAllister said that PSNI officers were on patrol when they witnessed an altercation, which involved a man being forced out of a van by three others, one of whom was “armed with a knife”, in the Bruce Street area shortly after 12.05 pm.
“The victim, aged in his 20s was threatened by the men, who told him to get back into the vehicle,” he further said.
DS McAllister said that the victim was treated in hospital for a head injury that is not believed to be life-threatening.
Two men were arrested at the scene, both aged in their twenties, while a third man in his teens was later arrested a short distance away.
“They were arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including attempted kidnapping and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. They remain in custody at this time, assisting with enquiries,” DS McAllister said.
