FOR MANY, IF not all, house-hunters, the level of natural light can make or break a property’s appeal.
This week, we’re looking at homes around the country with bright and spacious interiors – from a five-bed in Co Limerick to a two-bed apartment in Clontarf.
Coming to the market in turn-key condition, 33 Oakfield is a five-bed property with an impressive interior. Measuring 2,400 sq ft, No 33 boasts spacious living and dining areas, including a large sunroom with a free-standing stove. All five bedrooms are located on the first floor, as well as two en suite bathrooms and a family bathroom.
Outside, the property sits on a landscaped plot with a south-west facing rear garden, patio area and a covered water feature. There’s also a two-storey detached garage of 361 sq ft, as well as an internal garage. The University of Limerick is a 10-minute drive away, while there are a number of schools, shops and sports clubs within walking distance.
Located just off the Howth Road, this two-bed apartment is less than a five-minute walk from the Clontarf seafront. It features a bright, modern interior with an open-plan kitchen, living and dining area that’s filled with light thanks to the adjoining south-facing balcony.
The two double bedrooms also benefit from a south-facing aspect, with an en suite bathroom extending from the master bedroom. The development is secured behind locked gates, while each block features a communal roof terrace for sunny summer evenings. Clontarf DART station is a 10-minute walk away, while a number of buses run nearby.
A five-bed property, 18 Caislean Nua is designed for entertaining. The clever ground floor layout allows each room to interconnect seamlessly, starting with the folding double doors which connect the living room and the dining room. From here, there’s access to the light-filled kitchen and attached sunroom. Throughout the property, features include solid walnut floors, solid maple floors, bay windows and granite counters in the kitchen.
Upstairs, a skylight floods the landing with natural light. To the rear of the property, the garden is south-west facing and features a paved patio and astro turf. The property is ideally located within close proximity to the University of Limerick, while Limerick city is a 15-minute drive away.
Spanning 1,862 sq ft, 57 Iveragh Road is an attractive property with a half red brick facade. It features two interconnecting reception rooms, a bright conservatory and an open-plan kitchen and dining area. The main reception room benefits from a large bay window with original stained glass and an original feature fireplace.
Upstairs, there are four bedrooms and a family bathroom with a roll top bath, while the converted attic space could be used as a den, fifth bedroom or home office. No 57 is within walking distance of a number of primary and secondary schools, as well as Dublin City University. Dublin city centre is a 20-minute drive away.
