A MAN IN his 60s has died after being hit by a truck in Co Kerry.
The incident happened at about 10.40pm last night on the R557 road between Finuge and Abbeydorney at Lixnaw.
The man , who was aged in his early 60s, was struck by a lorry and taken to University Hospital Kerry in Tralee. However he passed away in the early hours of this morning.
The lorry driver was uninjured.
The road was closed to allow for a Garda forensic investigation. It has since reopened.
Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to the incident, or anyone who may have driven on the R557 last night, to contact them at Listowel Garda Station, on the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111, or at any Garda Station.
