Man (20s) dies following single-vehicle crash in Co Carlow

The crash happened on the R702 between Borris and Goresbridge at around 6.20am this morning.

A MAN IN his 20s has died following a single-vehicle crash in Co Carlow. 

The crash happened on the R702 between Borris and Goresbridge at around 6.20am this morning.

The man, the driver and only occupant of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road is closed for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them.

Any road users who were travelling on the R702 between Borris and Goresbridge between 5.30am and 6.30am and who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage, is asked to make it available to investigating gardaí.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Carlow Garda Station on 059 913 6620, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.

The man’s death brings the total number of people who have been killed on Irish roads since Saturday to eight.
