Cocaine valued €3.75 million found inside exhaust system of car stopped at Rosslare port
The drugs were found concealed within the exhaust system of a vehicle that had left a ferry from France.
A MAN IN his 40s has been arrested after Revenue seized €3.75 million worth of cocaine at Rosslare port, Co Wexford.
The 55.3kg of suspected cocaine were discovered after a vehicle that had left a ferry from France was stopped as part of routine profiling.
A search of the shipment using a mobile x-ray scanner and Detector Dog Dáithí led to the discovery of the drugs concealed within the exhaust system.
The man arrested by An Garda Síochána is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at a Garda Station in Co Wexford.
Investigations are ongoing.
This seizure is part of Revenue’s ongoing operations targeting the importation of illegal drugs.
