Man arrested after attempted withdrawal of €300,000 from bank

He was released last night.

A MAN WAS arrested in Dublin yesterday after an attempt to withdraw over €300,000 after an alleged fraud.

The fraud is alleged to have targeted an account held by an Italian man based in Italy.

However, because the account to which the money was sent is based here, gardaí were called.

It is believed that the Italian man sent the money to an account based in Ireland.

A man was then arrested after an attempt to withdraw over €300,000 from the account in Dublin.

He was taken to Store Street Garda station where he was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

The man was released from Garda custody without charge late last night. A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
