Man (22) due in court over Belfast hit-and-run that killed Co Tipperary woman

Raven Adams and a 22-year-old man were struck by a car in the York Street area of the city at around 2.40am on Thursday.

A MAN IS due to appear in court charged with dangerous driving causing the death of a Co Tipperary woman in a hit-and-run in Belfast. 

Raven Adams was struck by a car in the York Street area of the city at around 2.40am on Thursday. A 22-year-old man was also seriously injured in the collision. 

The PSNI said they received a report at around 2.40am of a single-vehicle collision involving two pedestrians.

It was reported to police that the pedestrians were struck and that the driver of the vehicle, a 22-year-old man, had subsequently fled the scene.

He was later arrested by officers in the nearby Cavehill area.

The man has subsequently been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, causing grievous bodily injury by dangerous driving and other driving-related offences.

He is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court today.

“As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service,” a PSNI spokesperson said.
