Man (60s) dies following two-car collision in Co Waterford

The fatal crash happened near Kilmeaden on Monday afternoon.

A MAN IN his 60s has died following a two-car collision in Co Waterford.

The crash happened on the R680 at Adamstown, Kilmeaden, shortly before 1.50pm on Monday.

The driver of one of the cars was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was removed to University Hospital Waterford, where a post-mortem examination will take place.

No other injuries were reported.

The road was closed while gardaí carried out an examination yesterday, but it has since reopened.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage who was travelling on the R680 between 1pm and 2pm on Monday to come forward.

“Investigations are ongoing,” a garda spokesperson said.
