Man released without charge after arrest over assault outside Waterford nightclub

A man in his 30s remains in critical condition after being injured during the incident.

A MAN IN his 20s has been released without charge after being arrested in connection with an assault outside a nightclub in Waterford in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The incident happened outside a nightclub on Davitts Quay, Dungarvan shortly after 2am.

A man in his 30s sustained a head injury during the incident and was treated at the scene before being taken to University Hospital Waterford by ambulance. His condition is understood to be critical.

Gardaí arrested a man in his 20s yesterday afternoon and he was taken to Dungarvan Garda Station. He was released without charge this morning.

A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions, according to gardaí.
