A 17-YEAR-OLD BOY will appear before a court in Dublin this morning charged with the murder of a 16-year-old girl seven months ago.
The accused, who cannot be named for legal reasons, will be charged with the murder of Melanie McCarthy-McNamara at Tallaght District Court.
The 16-year-old was shot on February 8, while sitting in a car on Brookview Way.
She was removed to Tallaght Hospital where she died a short time later.
RTÉ News reported that the accused will turn 18 this coming Thursday.
He will be the second person to be charged in relation to Melanie’s death; 23-year-old Keith Hall was charged two weeks after Melanie’s death.
