CHICKEN PRODUCTS SOLD in Aldi, Tesco, Dunnes and Lidl have been recalled due to the presence of salmonella.
Western Brand is recalling various batches of chicken products with use-by dates varying between 5 May and 14 May.
The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has advised consumers to check their freezers for the implicated products as they are suitable for home freezing.
The news comes following a recall of chicken products earlier this week with use-by dates in April from various supermarkets and brands.
The full list of recalled products can be found on the FSAI website, and recall notices will be displayed at point of sale.
Consumers are being urged not to eat the affected products, the FSAI has said.
People infected with salmonella typically develop symptoms between 12 and 36 hours after infection, but this can range between six and 72 hours.
The most common symptom is diarrhoea, which can be bloody.
Other symptoms may include fever, headache and abdominal cramps, and the illness usually lasts from four to seven days.
